Dressing for Your Shape: Curvaceous

I don't know about you but I have always dressed with what I believed was the best clothing and accessories for my shape: I am tall with large breasts, broad shoulders and narrow in the hips with the obligatory stomach from sitting most of the day and aging!

So I have generally steered away from A-line skirts, narrow blouses, too much pattern on tops, etc.  I thought I was doing pretty good until I saw a super useful guide on the L.K. Bennett of London site!

Unlike the traditional definitions of women's shapes, they showed some definitions that I had never heard before and ones that made a lot of sense!

So to kick-off our style page for Curva-Lish, I'm going to post some things that I think will help us all review how body shapes are defined, what looks good for that shape type and we're going to include some handpicked items that are complimentary to that shape type.

What I also love about focusing on your shape versus your weight or size is that it makes your focus on what looks (authentically) good on you, thus making you feel and look like a rockstar!

L.K. Bennett London defined five different shapes and we'll make a separate Style page post for each.

SHAPE: CURVACEOUS
Curvaceous, you have similar bust and hip measurements, with a defined, nipped-in waist.

Curvaceous

Dressing Tips:
Anything with a fitted waist will enhance your feminine shape. Wrap dresses and waist-cinching belts are your new best friends, as are flared and wide-legged pants to balance your curves. Halter, boat and V-necks will all flatter your fuller bust, but avoid high necked pieces.

Curvaceous Shopping Resource:
After going through several sites, Nordstrom has the largest selections of wrap dresses (including Diane von Furstenberg), belts to define your waist and flared pants to balance the curvaceous shape.

I hope you found this post helpful and let me know what you think of my first Style page post on Curva-Lish.  I have a ton of fun, information, and cuteness planned for you from me and fabulous guests.

Stay tuned and come back for our posts on the other style shapes!
